October Event

Carolina Tiger Rescue

For the month of October we will be visiting the Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro on Saturday, October 17 where we will see many types of animals, including a variety of big cats. Tickets sell out quickly, so if you would like to attend please secure your spot by turning in $18 (covers $11 entrance fee plus lunch) in an envelope with your name on the front to Mrs. Williams or the front desk of the Middle School by the morning of Friday, October 2 (Charger Cup day!!). I will order the tickets online on Friday for our group. On the day we visit the big cats, be sure to dress for the outdoor weather. As always, we will enjoy lunch at Golden Corral afterwards.   • $18 in an envelope with your name  to me or the front desk by Friday morning, October 2 .
  • You can always bring extra money for donations or to purchase items in the gift store if we have time, it is up to your family.
  • Meet in front of the MS at 9:00 am and pick up promptly at 1:30 pm
  • Dress for the weather and wear sneakers
  • There are no refunds due to bad weather- Carolina Tiger Rescue will not cancel unless the weather is dangerous (thunderstorms),  in which case they give a rain date voucher, so we will go even if it is raining as long as there is no lightening and thunder.

September Event

North Carolina Zoo

We will be traveling to the North Carolina Zoo on Saturday, September 19 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Students interested in participating in this trip will need to leave $25 in an envelope with their first and last name and “Animal Club” written on the front. The envelope can be turned in to either Mrs. Leslie Williams or Mrs. Cindy Laughlin (at the front desk). The money will cover the $11 entrance fee for ages 12 and under or $15 for 13 and over, lunch money ($7 for Golden Corral), and money for bottled waters throughout the day. There are a limited number of spots available on the bus, so first come, first serve. Please dress for the weather including sunscreen, and keep in mind we will be walking A LOT, so wear great walking shoes, ideally sneakers. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will reschedule.
