Community and Friendship

At Charger Trails, I think the Gulledge Ghouls did a great job working together during the activities. One thing I think we need to work on is listening to other people’s ideas instead of having “to many cooks in the kitchen.”  The first activity was Marble Luge. In this challenge I think we worked together, but we didn’t listen to each others ideas. The idea that completed the goal was mentioned in the beginning , but it wasn’t listened to. The next activity was Hog Call. This is where Mr. Rokuskie would put a card on our backs that matched with the card on  someone else’s back. We were not allowed to talk. This activity was not to hard because others could see your card and point you in the direction of your partner. I think in this challenge we didn’t have to many leaders and we worked together nicely.  Then we went to the maze. The maze was difficult because there was only one way to go through the maze and we could not talk to each other. I think there were many leaders pointing in different directions.

Egyptian potA house being built pic

What did they make the houses out of?

  • The Ancient Egyptians used mud bricks for both upper and lower class Egyptians.
  • Mud bricks were made out of mud from the Nile.
  • Mud brick houses were not as strong or long lasting as stone structures, but they kept out the strong heat from the hot sun.

Why were houses built to the North?

  • There is wind going from the North
  •  Air Circulates through the building
  • Allows  steady wind to enter
  • Kept intense heat out

What types of furniture did they use in Ancient Egypt?

  • Rich People had bathrooms (Stone slab for bathing and a stone toilet seat)
  • Richer people had bigger homes with gardens and a tree shaded pool.
  • Upper class had more furniture than lower class
  • They had stools, tables and more

My Favorite Seedfolks Character

My favorite character in Seedfolks so far is Kim. I admire her desire to impress her dead father by planting a garden because he was a farmer. She also stands up for what she believes in by cleaning up the lot a little bit and starts a community garden. She is hardworking and dedicated. She walks to the garden with jugs of water every day before school. I also love gardening and I would work hard on it just like Kim.

I would like to go to Camp Half Blood

Camp-Half-Blood

I would like to go to Camp Half Blood. I would like to go there because it is an imaginary place with cabins for campers, drinks that appear whenever you think of the drink you want, and of course the strawberry fields. Camp Half Blood is in my favorite book series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Camp Half Blood is a place where the children of the gods can be safe instead of finding themselves in fights with monsters. There are 12 cabins one for each of the Olympians ( like Zeus, Hera , Posiedon and much more). I hope that I can go to the exciting Camp Half Blood one day.
