Charger trails day

I was successful as a team mate because I gave my ideas, but still listened to other people. I also helped by telling people where to go in the word on the words on the back of chairs challenge. I also gave ideas for the marble challenge, and listened to other people’s ideas, and together we passed all three challenges. I think my advisory works together greatly.

What is a farmer’s job/life like?

  • Sow fields in November, just after flooding stopped which was usually done in pairs
  • One of them would go ahead and scatter seed everywhere, while the other came behind with cattle drawing a plow
  • Crops harvested in summer using a wooden sickle (metal blades with short wooden handles)
  • After that donkeys were used to transport the crop to the granaries (where food is stored) or to the market place
  •   What food did they plant and what food/drink did they make?
  • Two most important crops are wheat & barley which were used for bread and beer, two of the most common food items
  • Also grew vegies such as onions, radishes, peas, beans, cucumbers and lettuce
  • For meat they raised and hunted geese, duck, cranes and other wildfowl
  • Cows provided milk which was drank or made into cheese
  • They also drank wine which was made from grapes grown along the nile valley delta
  •  How much food do you get to eat?
  • Lower class ate simple upper class had choice of wide selection of meals
  • Laborer’s meal: fish, bread and water or beer
  • Wealthy person: fish, pigeon stew, kidneys, quail, ribs of beef, small round cakes, some cherry like fruit, stewed figs, cheese, and wine and beer to drink

Character Favorites In Seedfolks

In the book Seedfolks, I think I can relate to the character Sam. First of all, I am white and a proud Jew too. Second, I don’t care what religion or color my friends are as long as they are kind. For example, at my old school I had friends who are Jewish, Christian, and German from her father’s side of the family. I am also friends with people of all different skin types. I admire him because he is very outgoing and not shy when meeting new people. I can pretty easily meet new people but usually I am very shy when doing it. Sometimes I get to shy and don’t say anything, but that rarely happens. Also people are kind back and whenever they are, I feel like I am spreading the peace. I also think it is pretty cool to have a garden where you can grow your own food, and when you eat that food, somehow it tastes five times better than a store’s. overall, I really admire Sam, and I think I can relate to him.
