Luke’s Tiny House

This is the link to my Tiny House

I feel like overall I’ve done a nice job of including all of the needs as well as my wants that I consider my needs. I’ve included a fireplace and a T.V. which will allow for a little fun, but I don’t anticipate this holding my attention for days on end. That is the most frustrating part about tiny houses in my opinion; you might be able to include the needs and basic wants, but that will only entertain you for so long until you realize you want something else. The first you will say to yourself when you walk into my tiny house is, “Wow, this really is a tiny house.” My house is 9’9×11’9 which adds up to just under square feet per floor. To maximize my space, I decide to include a second floor. I wanted to uphold two key principles when designing my house: sustainability and livability; I believe I’ve accomplished both of those things. Once you’ve walked into my house, you’ll notice you are standing on some very beautiful wood floor. The flooring happens to be bamboo, an abundant natural wood resource. To the right is my kitchen and to left is my main living area. Let’s say you’re hungry so you walk into the kitchen. You can quickly wash you hands at the sink, grab a cool refreshment out of the full sized refrigerator, and warm up an Anne’s Microwaveable Pasta. If you’re feeling something a little more substantial, turn on the stove and enjoy! With such little room in the house you must be wondering where I store all of my junk. I’ve reduced the amount of storage on the floor and increased on the walls by having several storage cabinets all throughout the house. Once nourished, you’re going to need to take cat-nap with that full stomach of yours. Plop yourself down on the chair and find the clicker so you can scroll though endless channels until you give up, turn on your computer and watch Netflix. When eating more formally, I can pull up a chair and enjoy the ambiance of my square shaped table as the washer and dry make noise behind me. While maybe an annoyance as far as noise, the washer and dryer are one of the key sustainable aspects of my house. The machine is a combined washer/dryer, so I’ll be able to reduce the amount of water that I use. Finally, a fireplace adds a little warmth and charm to the tiny first floor. Now, onto the second floor! Enjoy the adventure up the spiral staircase because soon you’ll be in the bedroom. Very minimalistic, all that is needed in my bedroom is nightstand, a dresser, and a productive work station to complete homework. I also have several sources of light in my bedroom, the ceiling light, the lamp on the dresser, and the window to provide natural light. Finally, I have my bathroom. A toilet, sink, and shower provide my basic needs, but those features aren’t the best part of my bathroom. I’ve placed the water heater inside my bathroom (where I’ll be using most of my water) so that I could reduce energy it would take to pump the water all through my house. Hope you’ve enjoyed the tour of my humble abode.
