Over the course of its 26 years, Cary Academy has been tweaking its campus to ensure it is always the best it can be. These alterations allowed for the creation of a place students can find drinks, snacks, clothes, and build a strong community: The Hub. Though new, the hub has been constantly improving itself; with many new additions this year alone, the hub has grown into a bustling business.
When ordering a drink, you may have noticed you are now asked for your student ID. This semester the hub is doing a statistics project on consumer preferences, and it needs your input through what you buy. While student IDs are preferable, that is not the only option. You can take a picture of your ID, memorize your ID number, or, if all else fails, spell out your name for the person working the register and they can type it in.
Speaking of ordering drinks, there are always new toppings and add ins available! The hub has added options of protein powder, crushed up Oreos, and crushed up peppermints. These new products have allowed for the creation of many new drinks; you can try a protein shake, a cookies and cream frappe, or even just use these toppings over a drink you know and love. With these new drinks comes the seasonal menu. You can try a mint cookies and cream frappe, a chocolate covered cherry frappe, or any other drink off the winter menu. That being said, you don’t have to stick to the menu, you have the liberty of creating your very own drink order!
New drinks. New toppings. New opportunities. It may seem like there is all you could ever need, but it gets better. The hub has added a new freezer section; this freezer holds ice cream bars, Italian ice, and even microwavable meals. The hub chose popular candy bars such as M&Ms, Twix, and Dove and incorporated their ice creams into its shop so that the students at Cary Academy can have an ice cream break whenever they want.
Lastly, the hub has been working to connect even more with the Cary Academy community. While they used to do fun surveys with coffee beans, they have upped their game, creating surveys and trivia for students (which can be found near the freezer on the blackboard). They also created an Instagram account. Each time they reach a follower milestone, they give back to their followers by choosing a lucky follower to receive a free drink! So make sure you are following so you have a chance of getting a free drink; plus you will be one of the first people to see if they are doing a promotion!
