The CA community is excited to introduce TerraCycling as an initiative to lead to a more sustainable and equitable future on campus. As Chief of Environmental and Sustainability Officer, I have been honored to work with faculty and students to implement TerraCycling. A non-profit organization dedicated to reducing consumers’ waste production by recycling hard-to-recycle materials such as plastic wrappers and writing utensils, Cary Academy has purchased a sample TerraCycling box to collect candy and snack wrappers to be recycled. With the vending machine conveniently nearby and Halloween just passing by, the box has quickly filled up with wrappers and is ready to be sent back! With the support of the community, we are excited to implement more sustainable initiatives within CA!
