This was our last day of DT, and we had decided to go Saxaphaw Lake, about an hour away near the mountains. We had chosen canoe partners and we walked a bit to get to where the canoes are and loaded into them. We had then gone about a mile down the lake and entered a small cove for some shade. On our way back we had stopped by some rocks we had passed earlier and started jumping off them into the water, the fall was about 20ft and it was a very exhilarating experience. We were told to cover our noses when we were jumping in because there was a brain eating ameba in the lake which would kill us if it got into our noses. We finished off the day by eating at the general store and making our way back to Cary Academy.
