On day 4, the second day of our Nantahala camping trip, students whitewater rafted through the rapids of Nantahala River. Although we planned for an ecology tour in the afternoon in the same river, the past few days of rain has rendered the river too dangerous for wading in. Instead, we built survival shelters and hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail.
