Since we plan on tutoring a class of third graders at Leesville, we started the day off by dividing into four groups and each group prepared a fun activity. My group decided to design a game involving fractions. We brought in paper plates and drew circular foods, such as cookies, pies, and pizzas on them. We plan to let the kids cut the paper plates into evenly divided sections, and label each section with the corresponding fraction. Other groups planned out other fun worksheets and games such as magic squares and logic puzzles.
