Letter from the Editors

Dear Reader,

While everything about this year will be different, we are excited that The Campitor will provide an outlet–both for our readers and staff. We look forward to bringing you the latest news for the 2020-2021 school year. From the beginning of in-person classes to the election, The Campitor has you covered.

Despite the craziness going on in the world, some things will stay the same. Freshman still are experiencing the big Upper School jump, sophomores are adjusting to new leadership positions, juniors are learning the nuances of AP classes, and seniors are wrestling with the Common Application. Our staff has put in the time to manage all of these commitments as well as present the first Campitor edition of the year.

After reading and reviewing previous editions of The Campitor, we began to reflect on the nature of the newspaper and what it could evolve into over the course of this year. Annie McDarris (’15) wrote in her penultimate letter from the editor that, as a result of sending and receiving “emails to club presidents, team captains, [and] committee members,” her email “was bombarded with pictures, editing correspondence, questions, [and] last minute articles.” She went on describe the Spring 2015 issue as comprised of “reflections from not only the writers of The Campitor, but the entire CA community as well.” We’d like to build upon this legacy and attempt to unite the CA community through the newspaper. If you, reader, are a student, please know that – regardless of your presence at our club meetings or editing involvement – we will wholeheartedly welcome your writing, opinions, and questions into our publication, if you desire to share them.

We’d like to thank all of our writers who contributed to this issue: Sara Martin, Kate Sandreuter, Ella Gupta, Brooke Wu, Isabel Chang, Matthew Corkey, and Dhiren Parvathaneni. And, of course, thank you to Ms. Buie; this paper could not run without you.

Whether you’re here for advice, sports coverage, or the scoop on virtual learning, we hope you enjoy reading as much as the staff enjoyed putting it together.

Sincerely,

McKay Lucas and Claire Ferris

Editors in Chief
