Save the Date!

Tuesday, October 20, 2015
6:30-7:45 pm
Berger Hall Theater

Join sociologist Matt Ezzell, PhD in an exploration of adolescent popular culture, its impact on our sons and daughters and how parents can help.  Dr. Ezzell, a professor and researcher at James Madison University with expertise in relationship violence prevention, will discuss adolescent boy culture and its influence on how our sons perceive themselves and interact in relationships. This will be an active and interactive discussion with plenty of opportunity for Q&A.  Kelly Wiebe, Middle School Counselor, will be present as well.

In conjunction with the Charger Trails program, on the morning of October 21st Dr. Ezzell will be joined by Dr. Millie Maxwell, a therapist with expertise in addressing eating disorders, anxiety and depression. They will engage with the 7th and 8th grade students in an exploration of media and its effects on body image and self-concept. Students will be exposed to a framework for analyzing, decoding, and participating with media in constructive, intentional, and proactive ways.

We hope that you can join us on October 20th for a fascinating, frank and thoughtful evening designed to inform and empower parents. This event is suitable for parents of Middle School and Upper School students.  No students, please. Watch for on-line registration coming soon.
