About Me

Michael Ehrhardt is the Head at Cary Academy in Cary, North Carolina.

Dr. Ehrhardt earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Olaf College. He also has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, and a doctorate of educational administration from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Cary Academy in July 2013, he was head at the Marshall School in Duluth, Minnesota.  Previously, Dr. Ehrhardt worked at The American School in London, where he served as the middle school principal and the associate head of school for operations. He joined ASL after 10 years at the Graded School in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he served as director of technology, assistant high school principal, and finally middle school principal. He began his teaching career at the American School in Cyprus.

Dr. Ehrhardt has taught a variety of courses, most recently an online philosophy class with the Virtual High School Collaborative and a “blended” journalism class in Minnesota, where he also coached speech. He is a current board member of the Massachusetts-based Virtual High School Collaborative.

  1. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you, your students and staff for providing such a warm, festive venue for my son and so many like him. Last night was Matthew’s first Snowflake Ball and, hopefully, won’t be his last. He is a freshman at Holly Springs High and loves every minute of it but, unfortunately, he doesn’t have a tremendously active social life. Dances like the Snowflake Ball allow him to enjoy the his teenage years like everyone else.
