we started off the morning with two interesting videos to get an idea of our significance and history as humans on Earth. We then struggled with downtown parking for 30 minutes and almost went into the wrong building. But we ran into a familiar CA stats teacher while lost.
the exhibits were very interesting and a small subgroup of about 4-5 people visited their active lab area where we could see some jellyfish and participate in a mock lab of how frogs are tested for diseases.
we ate lunch together as a large group of 11 and struggled to park for only 10 minutes this time.
the museum offered lots of historical information of humans, animals, geography, and the general existence of the Earth.

Cafe Hopping – Sydney
Towards the end of the day we enjoyed coffee from Benelux cafe near NC State campus. The interior of this homey restaurant was slightly small but the drink made up for the atmosphere. A cinnamon cappuccino with a warm muffin is a great combination to fill the stomach without holding you back. I would rate this experience a 8/10.
X Day NCAM – Sydney
After driving and seeing half the group posing with a green tank on the side of the road, we headed to the North Carolina Art Museum. Although most of the museum was closed, we were able to see some of the outdoor art behind some buildings.
The statues were interesting, some by themselves and some in groups. But on the way back to the parking lot we spotted a nice corner with some hidden art (shown below). The reflective metal really made the whole area really interesting.
Van Gogh Museum – Sydney
To start our morning we gathered in the library to listen to Ivy’s summary of the 1980’s Memphis art style and viewed different works of tragic events. It was interesting to see the lack of diversity (at the corporate companies) mixed with the apathetic bright colors to create a stale but commercial 80’s timeline.
