Senior Golf Day

We started the day off at Drive Shack, and we played golf for about two hours. During that time, we learned how to improve our swings and when to use which clubs.

Additionally, using physics concepts like conservation of momentum, we were able to use the exit velocity of the ball and the angle it travelled at to calculate how far the ball went and how fast the gold club head was travelling.

After finishing our session at Drive Shack, we watched Full Swing, which is a series of documentaries that give a behind-the-scenes look at the PGA tour. We learned how difficult golf is at the highest level and how the pros become so consistent at their game.

Kayaking

After conducting our tests, we went kayaking onto the lake. We kayaked for a while before stopping at a sandbar across the lake. At the sandbar, we saw several types of animal tracks and later identified each of the animals. We explored around the island for a bit before heading back.

Testing Lake Jordan’s pH Level

When we arrived at Jordan Lake, we took samples of the lake’s water and ran several types of experiments to test for the water’s pH level and different types of compounds. In our trials, we included water from different areas from the lake to see how different substances alter the results of our tests.
