Day 13- Allen

On this day, the group ventured into the former household of the now deceased famous artist, philosopher, and inventor known as Leonardo de Vinci.

A look at the outside of the home.

Once we entered the beautiful home, our beloved teacher Mr. G surprised us with an “unexpected but lovely 61 page workbook with questions on every page”(Becca Humphries, “hailing from Russia”). The students were resilient but unfortunately no one was able to complete the workbook in our given 2 hours. Even though it was freezing and raining when we arrived, classmate Sarah George, age 16, proclaimed that she had “an excellent, exciting, and educational experience that she would not trade for the world”.

However, Lachlan McCallum, age 16, claims that the experience was “cold and tiring and tedious.” He does not recommend this spot for any tourists.

Lachlan McCallum, bored.

While Lachlan found the experience boring, I felt like it wasn’t too bad. We were sheltered from the storm going on outside, and when the storm subsided, we got a beautiful view of the garden.

With these different perspectives, the students of Cary Academy’s french class will reflect on their time here and store it in their memories, whether it be short-term or long-term.

As for myself, I almost died today. After the time at the museum, I went to a soccer park with the boys. Unfortunately, it started torrentially raining buckets upon us, and everything I had was soaked to the core. Even the stuff I had in the backpack that was inside my backpack was ruined. I then had to suffer more as I slipped in the mud because of a puddle which resulted in my appearance being one similar to a pig that had just rolled around in a swamp. Somehow I found myself at Brieuc’s (Lachlan’s exchange student) home with the boys and I got to change into a pair of dry shorts (his dad gave them to me). I then proceeded to take a one hour nap and woke up refreshed. Unfortunately, immediately after, I was forced back into the trenches where everything that had just dried off got soaked in cold water again. It is important to note that I am just wearing a windbreaker and not a shirt because I took off my shirt since it was wet. I just wanted to get back to Placide’s house, but no, we were going to an indoor soccer arena.

So when we eventually got to the indoor soccer arena, I was miserable. Fortunately, the soccer itself wasn’t bad. After the matches, I finally arrived back at Placide’s house. The first thing I did was take a hot shower followed by another short nap. I woke up at 8:40 pm, ate dinner, and plan on going back to sleep. I am currently burnt out and I have as much energy as this dog sleeping in front of me.
