It’s the first day of ascension, a religious holiday which marks the start of early days (summer break) for the French students. My exchange student and I, we drove three hours to the St. John de Mont to see her family and go to the beach. After arriving at the campsite where we would be staying for the next couple days, we ate pizza at the restaurant that Clemence’s uncle owns. I had a delicious vegetable pizza. I met clemence’s cousins, uncles, grandma, and aunt. After lunch, we walked back to our bungalow and slept for two hours because Clemence just recovered from a sickness and I am still dealing with jet lag.
After our power naps, we dressed in our swim suits and headed over to the pool that is connected to the family restaurant. There I met a dog named flash (see the photo below). We suntanned for an hour until we got hungry. Then we ate Nutella crepes made by her uncle himself (see photo below). After that we played Jenga at the pool. Finally, we ate dinner at the family restaurant. I ordered the vegetarian burger and it was like the ones in America. All in all, it was a great day and I saw many families at the pool that resembled the ones we saw in French movies.
