This weekend, instead of staying in town our family took a small trip west of Tours in the country.  There, we stayed with Drake’s exchange family’s (since they’re really good friends) grandparent’s house.   It was a nice cozy home in a rustic looking town.   Since we didn’t have any wifi, we mainly stayed outside and played around with a soccer ball.  After that, we ate dinner and went to bed.  The next day, we woke up at around 7:30 and left to go to the amusement park Puu du Fou, an attraction featuring olden themes such as Vikings, medieval knights and The Holy Roman Empire.   We first were able to see a bird show, a spectacular event in which included a diverse set of subspecies such as vultures, Falcons, owls, bald eagles, and so many more.   After that, we proceeded to watch a variety of other mock plays like the Arthurian legend, and a Viking raid.   What really stood out to me in all of these was all of the machinery involved, some of which included massive flames so large that you could feel the heat in the far back row of the audience. This park was a lot different then I thought.  In the U.S. most all of our amusement parks have roller coasters, mini-games and the like, but here it was more like watching little mini-shows, which was much more fun then I expected. For lunch, we were able to sit and have sandwiches while watching a spectacular water fountain show.  Although it started raining halfway through our stay at the park, this was still a great experience.  Luckily, the last half of our stay had cover from the rain, which kept our spirits bright.  We even had some hot chocolate too which was a relief since it was slightly chilly outside as well.  All in all, it was a great day and was a day well spent!
