This morning, we woke up early to volunteer at Note in the Pocket. Note in the Pocket in an organization that donates clothes to children and families in need across the triangle. Last year they were able to serve over 6000 Wake County citizens! The first thing that we did at Note in the Pocket was help the organization recycle unusable fabrics and garments. We used carts to transport bags of fabric, and threw them into a truck to be recycled! After that, we separated into two groups. One group assembled large boxes to hold piles of clothes. The other group sorted clothes into categories: women, men, girls, boys, and then into the subcategories of tops and bottoms. They also weeded out clothing that was unfit to donate and had to be recycled. All in all, we returned to Cary Academy as veteran volunteers! We spent the rest of the day working on individual projects.
