On the morning of the 24th, the Ecology DT went to a local restaurant centered around eco-friendly, plant based eating- It was named “Kale Me Crazy”. Before heading out though, we each examined various facets of our lifestyles (how much we drive, the ecological impact of our homes, the things we eat, etc.). The website then gave students a diagram of how many Earths it would require to sustain their lifestyle indefinitely. I recall my count being around six. We arrived by bus and partook in what Kale Me had to offer. The menu consisted of smoothies, salad bowls, juice shots and more. I personally chose to get the “Tropical Trippin'” smoothie. It consisted of mango, orange, maccha powder and ginger root. Several of my friends got “The Warrior” which was a workout based smoothie built around protein and other important athletic macros. For many, it was an eye opening experience into the taste and thought process of someone who lives very conscientiously concerning their carbon footprint.
