We started off our DT today by finishing off some of the lessons about light rays from Day 2. After that
quick lesson we reviewed the plans for today including a field trip. We had a choice to either watch a space themed movie or continue building our Motel-O-Scope. As a group we unanimously decided to do both. So while we worked on our fun project for the telescope we had The Martian on in the background. It didn’t take long for all of us to get distracted by the movie and soon enough we all crowded around the TV watching. We made fun comments during the movie and overall just had a chill morning. We had our lunch break and all gathered at the room afterwards. It was time for our field trip to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. We met Dr. Smith and Dr. Theuthardt. They told us about what they research (galaxies, telescopes, etc.) and showed us some technology they use. All of it was super detailed and it was a fun experience to look around and ask questions. We got so invested we ran a little late but made it to school safe and sound!
