Starting the day off, the DT tested their sports knowledge playing the daily poeltl, weddle, and wardle, and followed that up by setting their picks for “Beat the Streak” in an attempt to spark interest into the wonderful world of baseball. While some opted to choose proven hitters such as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. or Mike Trout or Freddie Freeman, other opted to choose lesser-known, lesser-proven hitter Aramis Garcia- who doesn’t appear to be playing tonight. Then, the DT learned about salary caps and came to the realization that it was payday for the teams they had drafted. With a cap of $180 million, some of these star-studded rosters were about to look a little different. The budding GMs were forced to evalute their teams, cut or trade players, and submit contract bids to agencies- recieving news of accepted or rejected deals via Woj-style ASPN “tweets.”

“Today I think I made some power moves regarding the players that I recruited to come play for my team. I also think I got some steals with sharife cooper and jalen johnson which were two great additions to my team. Somehow i got so many good players and was still able to fit into my cap salary.” – KeShawn

“I feel I am off to a good start signing Lonzo, Christian Wood, and Josh Giddy. I hope on signing Embiid, Kyrie, and DeRozan as they will be main threats for me offensively and defensively. Unfortunately for DeAndre Jordan he opted to not accept my offer even though it was the same as last year. In my opinion he’s lucky to have an offer at all since all he does is sit on the bench getting 500k to watch basketball.” – Scott

“Today we worked on signing our new players to contracts that both the GM and the player could agree on, while making sure we stayed under the salary cap. It taught me a lot about how difficult it is to make sure that everybody is happy in sports negotiations, and helped me appreciate how much work goes into them.” – William

“Today we went through our rosters and did the contracts and the salary cap. Some of the work was difficult, however my team wasn’t too bad, and I was able to cut and sign a few players and stay under the salary cap. Overall, my team looks pretty good so far, and assuming most of my players agree to the deals, I am happy with where I am right now.” – Chris

“Today we went through contracts and salary caps, it was kind of difficult to give some people the right amount of money while staying under the budget. So far with the results that have come back, I’m not doing too good but I know if i can give a second offer then it’ll benefit both me and the player more.” – Chance

“Today I worked on creating the contracts for all of the players on my team. At first I had to give up Kevin Love as he had a 31 million dollar contract which was too expensive. I also gave my Bird Rights to Luka Doncic which allowed me to pay all of my players below the salary cap.” – Connor

“Today I used my knowledge of supply and demand to offer money to the players i want on my team, offering each player a generous amount of money to join my organization.” – Noahwal

“I wrote all my contracts for my players today. we also worked on salary caps and how signs and trades work. the players will be signing to different teams soon.” – Thomas
