Today at the Wake County Pet Shelter, we got to pet cute little furballs of kittens and cats as well as little puppies and dogs. Throughout the experience, we always looked for the Pink sign that stated: I’m Adopted which was attached to the cages of multiple animals. Asha stated how, “[it] was extremely insightful, and really helped [her] see the importance of adopting pets from shelters” because “it opened her eyes to conditions the animals are living in right now”. Despite the pet shelter providing the best conditions that they could, all the animals were confined to small spaces which made everyone super sad. After petting the animals, we learned how some animals stay many months without getting adopted which made everyone tear up right there and then.We ended the trip with a huge insight on the lives of some pets and how we could help out!
