During our spontaneous decision to go to the pool, we all were looking forward to closing out Live BETTER with a nice and relaxing swim. Once we reached the pool, we were told that we had to take a swim test. What could it be? All the strokes, timed laps, treading water for five minutes? All of us threw out suggestions of a possible swim test and were getting nervous by the minute. The lifeguard walked us over to the “deep” end which was only 5’5” and told us to swim to the end of the lane and tread water for 30 seconds. We all sighed in relief and passed the test. It was ironic because we ended up playing Marco Polo and Mermaids in the shallow or 3′ end instead.
