We had a cooking class, learning several dishes from the Mediterranean including miscellaneous facts sprinkled in between the directions to mix and marinate and cut. On the menu was chicken kabobs and gyros, along with pita bread, a dill and yogurt sauce, and frosted cupcakes. Quite the spread, to say the least. Rolling the pita bread into perfect rounds was motivated solely by the promise of more. The bread was golden while cooking, inflating like little balloons before the weight of deflation and gravity crushed them flat.
My cupcake near trembled underneath the dunes of the icing being piped on, yet still retaining its elegant look with the addition of rainbow sprinkles. Our chicken we placed facing the wrong way on the grill, but tasted good, nonetheless. The abundance of food was pleasing. After we finished prepared our food, we headed into the back to enjoy it. We were surprised to see refreshing drinks laid out for us, and we were especially pleased since it was such a hot day. I was so glad I got to try this new thing and hope I can cook something that I learned soon!
