In the afternoon, we watched the movie Moneyball to help lead us into the topic of basic probability and statistics in real life. This movie narrates the story of how two pioneers change the game of baseball forever. Instead of using intuition and experience to pick players, they used computer programs, numbers, and statistics to make a winning team. Unfortunately, we only had enough time to finish the movie, and we will discuss it next week.
