Our growing list of themes from each episode. Medical experimentation, installment contracts, Yoruba practices, and the Native two-spirited character were introduced in this episode.

Like usual, we start our day off with the latest episode(s) relating to that day’s theme. Later in the day, and included in another post, we will go to the NC Mutual Life Insurance building in Durham. This Black-owned insurance company connects to the themes of redlining, installment contracts, and unfair stipulations that prevented Black people from buying houses in predominantly white neighborhoods, which the episode highlighted.
