The walk through Lake Johnson was certainly quite the journey. Being our first activity, we used the long 3.8 mile loop to get to know one another better. The trail started off simple enough but after we took our break near the beach (and said hi to the ducks), the trail became more interesting. With twisty turns and steep hills, the walk in the sweltering sun suddenly changed to a “Who Can Reach the Bus First”. Ella, Isabel, and Mehitabel decided to start running the steep hills whereas some behind them decided to skip. Maggie, Tanya, Ms. Follet, and Mr. Bell enjoyed the view and some long discussions through their walk, unaware of the racing going on in front of them.

We ended the walk with 8,000 steps and counting! The running, skipping, and walking made us tired and appreciate the air conditioning in the second half of our day much more.
