Today was definitely our toughest hike yet. We traveled to Falls Lake and hiked 4 miles out to a peninsula. We swam about 200 meters across the lake and traveled along the shore to reach our ultimate destination: a 12-foot boulder. While some were tentative about jumping at first, after a few minutes, everyone was going on their second jump. After a picnic lunch back on the beach clearing, we began the 4-mile trek back to the buses. With the motivation of heading back, the rabbit group (the fastest hiking group) averaged 3.6 miles/hour. These members of the team were able to push their physical limits beyond what they thought they were capable of. Everyone finished very shortly after, proving that we have a very strong group that is prepared to take on the challenges of the Foothills trail on our extended trip.

Arriving back at CA, we sprung into action to prepare for our Friday morning departure for Table Rock State Park. We unpackaged and repackaged all of our food and Mr. Rushin offered some additional packing advice for our trip.

We will be leaving around 9am tomorrow and will all enjoy an off-day from hiking as we plan to swim in Lake Jocassee when we arrive. We will be unplugged for the next 6 day, but will make sure to take plenty of pictures to share all of our amazing experiences!
