Today we started the day with a presentation from Mrs. Murphy that overall taught us more about interaction and networking in different settings such as academic and informal. This led to some “role-play” discussions we had with partners to help us practice striking up beneficial conversation and asking questions. After this we began our mock Harvard Business School case study, where we all came together to try and pick out a car for Mr. Gozon based on the criteria he presented us with, or the “case”. This was cool as it replicated what is commonly done at Harvard Business School and we had the chance to collaborate and have interesting discussions. Later, we went through various economic and business models to explain relationships between cost, price, and value in different situations. We used specific color coded pencils to help us visualize our discussions. Finally, we ended the day by having our first interview with Mr. Seeley, where we asked questions about his childhood and how it impacted him. This first interview was a good insight into how future interviews will go and how we can improve our skills.
