Today, the Experiencing Wilderness group trekked into/through the Eno River. It was the shortest of our day hikes, but we learned valuable skills, especially the art of river-crossing. As Mr. Rushin promised, this was the “snakiest” place we’ve visited, and it didn’t disappoint! We saw multiple snakes, as well as turtles, toads, and many fish. After lunch, the river provided a much needed break after a long time in the heat. We finished off the day cleaning out the aisles at the local Walmart in preparation for our upcoming six day trip through Nantahala National Forest.
