Health 2

This week me and my group helped solve the class question, Does the different consumption of nutrients from foods effect in the long run? by interviewing Ms. Melissa Davenport about her personal health and how she relates work and health. On Wednesday my group and i came up with an idea to make a short film based of the answers of one question  we asked people in the middle school. We asked them how they could plan to fix the us health system. We also filmed the voice over making it very professional, Morgan Freeman type of film. Monday we plan to finish it and send it to the media

December 2 – December 9

This week Kendyl, Chailyn, and I accomplished scheduling our interview which is occurring on Monday and we helped figure out when the people who are interviewing Chef Sam and interviewing so that we can video record it and hopefully have it posted onto the website. For me personal I started working on the script for our mini movie which helps answer the question, How does the different consumption of food affect your health in the long run? Our idea is to show a younger child eating different types, and amounts of food and how it effects that young child in the long run. I will play the young girl and Chailyn will play the older version of the girl, and Kendyl in playing the cameraman and anyone else we need. Next week I hope to finish the script so we can start recording.

What I learned with building wealth over the long-term

  • A bank is a company that has to make money to pay for expenses as well as making a profit
  • People put money into banks to keep it safe and have a good liable place.
  • The bank gives us more money for keeping it n there that’s called interest
  • When people get a loan they take some of your money to give it to them and we pay interest for a loan for the amount of time it takes you to pay them back
  • The most common time it takes to pay off a loan for a car in America is 5 years but for a house its 30 years
  • If we had 2% of interest for savings and 4% for loan and we have 100 dollars and we put it in savings the bank gives us 2$ so they have -2$ and if for a loan, we will have 4 dollars. The bank makes 2$
  • Interest is the amount of money the bank pays you to keep money in the bank or the amount of money the bank receives for lending you money, Its always a percent and the percent is called an interest rate is used to calculate
  • 4% interest on a car loan means you will pay 4 percent of the loan you take on top of the amount you take
  • Most loans are calculated with compound interest
  • Compound interest is interest on interest.
  • What this means is that when you give the bank money each year the internist for them rises. Just like in Charlayne’s situation

Games

One of the games that i played on this lovely Thursday night after i took my long test was Jesse’s Ice Cream Stand. In this game i learned about the importance of a profit. If you make more money selling the items than buying the product you make a profit. In this game Jesse was making money for vacation. I choose the strawberry looking one that cost 30 cents to sell, but 5$ to buy . Unfortunately i made 5$ which meant i made as much many as it cost to buy.

The second game i played on this lovely Thursday night after i took my long test was Reno’s Debt Dilemma. I learned about debt and how and important it is to not have it. Debt is when you owe money, just like negative numbers. In the game Reno had debt.

My Thoughts on Nien Cheng

I think Nien Cheng would not behave just like the Red Guards because she seems to think about her actions. I also believe that she would not be brainwashed and she could choose from right and wrong. Nien Cheng was respected. Another side of me believes that she might participate in a little of this because she could be a little mad at the upper class. But I also know she would not take it to as far as an extreme as the Red Guards did in her situation.

Red Scarf Girl

Hey my name is Dui-Hai obviously the best person ever (besides Chairmen Mao) I can’t wait to be announced a Red Successor. I mean it isn’t official but I know anyway. I mean look at me I was obviously meant to be one. I walk into to class with my head held high. I wave to everyone to let them know that I’m worthy. As I sit in my chair I notice Ji-li. She is checking her nails like she doesn’t care about Chairmen Mao. How rude. Anyone who thinks they are worthy of serving Chairmen Mao must pay attention. My mom, who is the Neighborhood Party Committee Secretary told me to watch out for girls like Ji-li. She is a teacher’s pet. She cares about her grades. There has always been something off with her. Like the way she writes notes and how she is always studying. Teacher Gu walked in the room and the election started. Yin Lan-lan raised her hand. She is the only other worthy opponent in the election. She did bring up a good point. Those with bad class status should not be elected. I looked at Ji-li. I know all about her little secrets. When they were nominating Ji-li was nominated. I can’t believe it. They must not know everything about her. Just wait until they see. The first person to go up was Yu Jian. His speech was great. I’m going to have to think of something way better. Then Ji-li stood up. Get ready because this is going to be boring. She stands up and tells us that her parents are not part of the communist party. How can she even run for Red Successor? Someone yelled through the crowd “WHATS YOUR CLASS STATUS? She didn’t even know. I guess I’m going to have to tell the entire class. Her grandfather was a land lord. The whole class was in shock. Her grandfather was one of the blood suckers who exploited farmers. That was the number one enemy. The worst of the Five Black Category’s. What was even worse is that her father was a rightist. He was one of the reactionary intellectuals that attack our party. And after all of this she still wanted to be a Red Successor. I think not. She thought I was lying. I guess she didn’t know that my mom was Neighborhood Party Committee Secretary. She started to cry. She ran out of the class room. Now I didn’t feel bad at all. Her father is a rightist and her grandfather was a landlord. After she left the room went silent. Everybody was still in shock. Yin Lan-lan said “I cannot believe she even tried to be a Red Successor”. The class all agreed. I stood up and gave my speech. The whole entire class was in awe of my speech. I smile and gave a wink. The class all agreed that nobody could beat my speech so I was automatically selected. See told you I was the best.
