French West Vaughn Day 8

Day 8 blog-

Today was the last day at French West Vaughn. To start out the day Colleen Riddler and Morgan Dougherty treated us to a coffee shop named bitter sweetness. We spent about a half hour at this shop talking about how we liked the program and providing feedback on what they can improve on. It was really nice of them and I really appreciated it. I don’t really like coffee so I got the lemonade. It was some of the best lemonade and I would 10/10 recommend. It’s not officially on the menu, it’s more like a secret menu product. After we had this nice bonding time we got back to work. The first thing we did was find public event calendars that we could put the O2 fitness grand opening on. After that we went to lunch at a place named Gravy. This place also had really good food and I would again recommend this place. I got pasta and I really appreciated that they had gluten free options. After lunch we went to an ice cream place called TREAT. Great ice cream there! I would suggest getting the flavor, turtle. After our long feast we set back to work. We were tasked with finding more influencers for the company J. Peterman. This is a clothing company that has vintage style products but are priced fairly high. We looked for micro influencers meaning they had to have under 3,000k followers. Micro influencers are easier to reach than big time instagrammers. We searched for micro influencers that were interested in vintage apparel and an appeal for cars and motorcycles. To the end the day we went to a meeting about their client J. Peterman. This internship has been quite an eventful learning experience.

French West Vaughn Day 7

Day 7 blog-

Today was a busy day at French West Vaughn. We started out the day looking for Instagram influencers for a new and upcoming company that cannot be currently discussed. The second thing we did was find dates and times that would convenience the company and provide a good opportunity to boost their progress. It doesn’t sound like much, but we had to find a lot of different influencers on Instagram, Youtube, and blogs. After we did that we took a lunch break and then started another assignment. Our last task of the day was to look for more influencers but for different companies this time. We had to find swimmers or swim athletes that could be potential influencers for the company arena. What made this more difficult was how narrow a category that person had to fit into. The person had to be female, have a least 300 likes per post, at least 5k followers, over the age of 22 and under the age of 35, and post at least once a month of them swimming. We also had to find influencers for the company O2 and that requirement was that they reside in NC. We eventually got all this done, but it was a lot more than we had been doing in the previous days.

French West Vaughn Day 6

French West Vaughn Day 6 Blog

Today was a more relaxed day and we were back working with the Account Executive of the Company. We spent the whole day researching about Research Wireless Relay Product Launch. This product is a phone for younger kids. It’s cross between a phone and a walkie-talkie. It does not have a screen, but it is able to be used to communicate with people. With this technology Parents have a way of contacting their children and keeping track of them. This phone is categorized as a child safe phone. We researched different magazines, websites, and shows to could feature this new product and help advertise it. Today was a more chill day, but I appreciated it.

French West Vaughn- Day 5

French West Vaughn- Day 5

Today was an exciting and eventful day. I’d have to say I liked the work we did today the most out of all the rest of the days. Today we worked with the creative team of the company. Our first task was to help brainstorm ideas for a new and upcoming company. This company is one of the largest Cannabidiol extraction and production facilities in the U.S. They basically want to use a derivative of cannabis for vape oil, Pharmaceuticals, body lotion, lip balm, bottled water, pet products, and many other products. They say that they can use this derivative of the cannabis to help with things such as reducing nausea and vomiting, combating cancer and tumor cells, combating pain and pain related sources, and much more. Unfortunately, the company is completely reliant on whether the law, for allowing cannabis to be used medically and recreationally in the U.S, is passed. In the event that the law does get passed the company needs an official name. Today we helped brainstorm numerous different ideas for the company name such as indica isolates, cannibody, health and litness, crystalline climb, and a whole lot more. The second task that we were given today was about a new exhibit that will be opened. This new exhibit will feature some really exciting things about dinosaurs, but the rest must remain a surprise because we were told this was confidential information for now. For the rest of the day we spent time thinking of ideas for how to advertise for the exhibit and what activities could be planned to increase the excitement. All in all, today was a good start to a new week.

Day 2- French West Vaughn

Today at French West Vaughn we worked along side the creative team of the company. This part of the company works to find social media influencers and other media outlets that can aid their clients. For example, Wrangler is one of their big clients that has been with French West Vaughn for 21 years. Wrangler is a  western style clothing company. They sell hats, belts, shirts, pants, and many other things. Today we focused on the CMA (country music awards) festival. The CMA festival is a great platform for Wrangler to advertise their brand and find people to promote their product. This is where we came in. We helped look for Instagram and YouTube influencers who could possibly partner with the company to help promote the Wrangler brand. We also helped look for media outlets that talked about what to wear to the CMA awards and then later we found both good and bad reviews about Wrangler. French West Vaughn wants to find people to promote wrangler, use various media outlets that mentioned CMA  and  make adjustments to how they promote their brand based on the various reviews. It was really great to see how this part of the company functions. It was quite a learning experience.

Day 1- French West Vaughn

Today we started our work at French West Vaughn, a marketing and advertising company. French West Vaughn has about 50 different clients. The companies job is to help promote and spread the word about their clients brands. Some of the brands that French West Vaughn has are Melitta coffee products, arena swim wear, and north Carolina pork council. Every day we will be working with a different part of the company to learn how the company functions. Today we worked with Morgan Dougherty, the Account Executive. We helped her find both good and bad reviews about these different companies so they can get information about how the public is viewing the products and adapt their techniques based on the comments. Melitta and Arena are doing pretty well. Melitta actually just released a new coffee pour over cup that they are trying to promote. Unfortunately, the North Carolina Pork Council is currently facing 7 different lawsuits and has already lost the first law suit. French West Vaughn is working to help improve how the public is viewing the pork council. We learned a lot today and I look forward to learn more about the other jobs at the marketing company.
