Chelsea– final day

Today our main focus was to present to Fredd Whip and Mark Self. We were each asked what we have learned from the Work Experience Program as well as new ideas for mpro5.

Overall, I believe these whole two weeks of people in a professional work setting was very beneficial for me as a student and future employee.

Chelsea– last few days

Although I was sick for the majority of the first week, I was able to catch up fairly well by the second.

My main memory with my team is working with new people and finding our strengths and weaknesses during research project (and the ping pong tournament). I was able to define what mpro5 was easily as well as learning new key terms such as SEO and PPC.

Drew Day 7

Today we had a project on PPC’s. People got lunch at Panera however I got lunch at chick-fil-a. WE got to give Darrel a croissant because he took it from Fred. We also played ping pong today, where I am getting better. These projects on PPC’s are getting harder as we have to present in-front of the board. Colin and I work together on a lot of projects.

Drew’s last day

For my last day we still were working on some projects. There was a big ping pong tourney which I placed good in. I talked to the board yesterday and told them how i felt about the internship. I like working here and the memories and work I have developed will help me in the future. I even got to play Mr. Whipp in a ping pong game for the last day.

Drew Day 2

I start my day driving into downtown Raleigh. Mr. Whipp gives us some new tasks to help find companies for mpro5 to sell to and we start working in multiple excels. After working for some hours, we got lunch at this market place where there are a ton of food stores. After lunch we got back to work however I also got to meet Barrie Whipp, Mr Whipp’s dad.

Final 2 days MPRO5 MW

On our final twos days, we did presentations of SEO key words. We filled out a marketing campaign for the company. COlin and I wore the same color shirt.

We had a ping pong tournament that included a bracket.

We went to the EL Rodeo for lunch for the 4th and 5th time over the two week span.

We had our final meeting with Mr. Self and talked about what we learned from the experience.

Final Day, mpro5 Evan A.

On the final day at mpro5, we created a catered social media strategy campaign for mpro5. In this presentations, we showed Fred Whipp which social media platforms bring in the best results, which is instagram and TikTok right now. Additionally, we continued our search for potentially consumers of mpro5 software, compiling a comprehensive list of customer prospects in the 3 different sectors (retail, hospitals, facility management). I’m very appreciative for this work experience as I got to truly understand what real world marketing and sales is like, and I was able to learn lots of applicable skills like SEO keyword search and Pay Per Click advertising. I’m very happy with how efficient our group of interns performed, and I look forward to seeing all the different activities  this work experience will lead to throughout the summer.

Day 4/Reflection – Sydney

We wrote a group report that I would considered to be very detailed and Fred seems to agree.

This WEP has given me a glimpse into the marketing and sales world, and its very competitive. Most of our work was scouting customers and competitors to improve mpro5 based on others good and bad traits. It was a lot of work and an uncomfortable amount of Google tabs.

But, the work was very rewarding and mpro5 gave us a great working atmosphere that was comfortable, fun, and relaxing. I learned the ups and downs of group work and the WEP has helped me figure out what kind of business I am interested in.

Sadly, there as no appearance of the office mascots on the last two days but Fred and Darrian held it down.

Day 3 – Sydney

I discovered that there are 2 office dogs, Lida and Pebbles. I also say Lida stand for the first time.

We started some marketing approaches today, focusing on finding SEO (search engine optimization) words or keywords. I couldn’t create an account so I was stuck waiting until my group had enough words to begin the presentation.

PowerPoints are only fun to make if you have a good template. If not, its just boring. We also meet the CEO, who is not as surprisingly British, and presented our SEO words to him. Our color coordination wasn’t aesthetically pleasing though.

Day 1 – Sydney

Downtown Raleigh is not my favorite place to drive nor park. The building looks like most of the others so it was hard to find at first. We are stationed on the very top floor but its fine cause the lighting it nice and they have free drinks. Our host, Fred, is surprisingly British.

For the first half of the day, I work on compiling potential customers in and Excel doc from grocer and other retail industries.

I reunited with Morgan Street Food Hall after 2 years and I highly recommend the hibachi.

After exceeding Fred’s expectations we started work for Day 2 today which consisted of finding catering companies. This was a lot harder than expected.
