Day 4/Reflection – Sydney

We wrote a group report that I would considered to be very detailed and Fred seems to agree.

This WEP has given me a glimpse into the marketing and sales world, and its very competitive. Most of our work was scouting customers and competitors to improve mpro5 based on others good and bad traits. It was a lot of work and an uncomfortable amount of Google tabs.

But, the work was very rewarding and mpro5 gave us a great working atmosphere that was comfortable, fun, and relaxing. I learned the ups and downs of group work and the WEP has helped me figure out what kind of business I am interested in.

Sadly, there as no appearance of the office mascots on the last two days but Fred and Darrian held it down.

Day 3 – Sydney

I discovered that there are 2 office dogs, Lida and Pebbles. I also say Lida stand for the first time.

We started some marketing approaches today, focusing on finding SEO (search engine optimization) words or keywords. I couldn’t create an account so I was stuck waiting until my group had enough words to begin the presentation.

PowerPoints are only fun to make if you have a good template. If not, its just boring. We also meet the CEO, who is not as surprisingly British, and presented our SEO words to him. Our color coordination wasn’t aesthetically pleasing though.

Day 1 – Sydney

Downtown Raleigh is not my favorite place to drive nor park. The building looks like most of the others so it was hard to find at first. We are stationed on the very top floor but its fine cause the lighting it nice and they have free drinks. Our host, Fred, is surprisingly British.

For the first half of the day, I work on compiling potential customers in and Excel doc from grocer and other retail industries.

I reunited with Morgan Street Food Hall after 2 years and I highly recommend the hibachi.

After exceeding Fred’s expectations we started work for Day 2 today which consisted of finding catering companies. This was a lot harder than expected.

Day 8 – Sydney

I’m not counting Monday (Memorial Day) as one of our work day so Day 8 is 6/2.

Its the last day so we wrapped up our research on possible “middleman” companies who could recommend mpro5 to other businesses in need. Some of us took an early lunch to eat at the Parkside Restaurant. The food was delicious and fast. We ended the day with a suspicious trivia game created by Fred and Darrian. Lila was no where in site at the office today and Pebbles has been MIA since Tuesday. They will be missed.
