Day 8: overall reflection

I think my main takeaway for this experience is the importance of marketing and branding. I’ve realized that no matter how good you execute things, it won’t be impactful unless people know about it. It’s important as a business to have an online presence especially now that so many things are virtual. Overall, I’ve learned a lot about marketing, Homestead Sage, and UVC technology through WEP.

(I forgot to take a picture of our final meeting)

Day 7: addressing safety concerns

A huge reason why UV-C lights are not more commonly used in places like schools or hospitals is safety concerns. While there are risks relating to UV-C radiation, Homestead Sage takes all the precautions and they understand the proper installation process. Therefore, we decided to make a new section of their website that is dedicated to addressing those concerns. It is still in progress and in a word doc right now.

Day 6: Final draft of resource library!

Today we finished up the resource library! We added summaries and quotes before the articles so that people browsing the Homestead Sage article can easily see which articles they do or don’t want to read. We finished up the FAQ, but we are also planning on adding another section that addresses certain safety concerns people have about UVC radiation.

Day 2

Today we continued working on our projects. After getting together with Jordan yesterday, we decided to each take the lead on one project. I’ve been working on the resource library and Jordan has been working on the SWOT analysis. Today we mainly worked on finalizing things as we will be meeting with Mr. DiFrancesco and his wife tomorrow to discuss the next steps. Creating the resource library has been really fun. Through finding the best articles for the Homestead Sage website, I got to learn a lot about the UVC technology itself. It’s really important to spread awareness and address the misinformation on it. The SWOT analysis also has been really helpful for us to understand more about the small business and the best ways to help them build a better online presence.
