In the afternoon today, we got the opportunity to shadow Emily Brice, an account executive at French West Vaughan. We sat in on two of her calls and learned some backstory on how she ended up working at FWV. She graduated from UNC a couple years ago and then worked at a firm in NYC (with a focus on pharmaceutical brands), and now specializes in those clients here too! She told us how she works on a lot of local pharmaceutical startups, but also on larger clients too, such as Quest Diagnostics. It was a super fun way to end off the day and we learned a lot!

User Generated Content (UGC’s!)
In the afternoon today, we met with our lead coordinator and also Social Media manager, Ms. Alaina Ruggery. She walked us through the Disney Princess and Wrightsville Beach accounts and showed us their social media roadmap for June and the software they use to create this plan and generate ads. We learned about how for most of their Instagram feeds they utilize UGC’s, or user-generated content, which is essentially reposting other creator’s images with permission. We learned about how they attain said permission, keep track of it, and how they form copies (captions) based on the photos. Below is a picture of us with Ms. Ruggery in the Oak Room!!
Day 1 at FWV!
Later in the afternoon, we got to individually explore the websites and socials of different French West Vaughan clients- from Pendleton Whiskey to Wrangler Network. We also got to look at different case studies and blogs from the firm. Tomorrow we plan to be able to visit the firm in person and shadow people from different teams.
