(Videos of my final projects above)

I started the day finished with both of my projects but I wanted to have better lighting because I realized there was an issue with the lighting where if you look at the sky for a while it gets very bright. Mr. Polge was able to find the problem which was the eye adaptation setting. My issue was resolved when I turned it off. I then made small changes to make the game more fun to play and easier than I was finished. I enjoyed the process of creating my audio visualizers and the game a made using them. I’m planning to work more on the projects at home/start some new ones.

Parkour level

I was unsure what to do at the start of this day Because I have my two audio visualizers but I didn’t know what to make with them. I made a project with the particle system and the balls and messed around with the lighting for a while. David had an idea for me to make a parkour map which is what I ended up going with. I first wanted to set up the music and setting for the level. I used Mario galaxy music and I used a night sky asset from the Unreal Engine store. A

Second Audio Visualizer

After making my particle system I wanted a second audio visualization so I found a tutorial for making balls that get bigger and smaller based on the music. I made those and added them to my first audio visualizer and I created a new project where I could make more changes to them. I wanted some of the balls to be movable and be affected by gravity. I was stuck trying to figure that out for a while but Mr. Polge was able to help me. At this point, I also decided to my new project set in space.

Audio Visualizer

I created an audio visualizer using particles (really small cubes) that move around based on the volume of the audio playing. They automatically move in a vortex shape when nothing is playing which speeds up and they move farther from the center as the volume gets higher. I initially had an issue where everything seemed to be working but when I started my project, all the objects would disappear. After looking on youtube/google for my issue I was able to fix it. I’m planning to add more objects that move to the music and implement all of these in some sort of game.

Unreal Engine Day 1

We learned about the unreal engine and all the ways it can be used such as in medicine, game development, and movies. I learned about creating a basic level using the unreal engine and changing the lighting. Our goal is for each individual to have some sort of project finished by the end of the two weeks. One of my ideas I have now is using a midi device to control the setting.
