Game Has Been Completed

I finally finished the game I was working on. I was able to complete the last floor and fix AI movement and mechanics. I had a really great time during the work experience program. I learned on how to make a game in unreal engine and use the several tools it had. With the help of Mr. Polge, I was able to come up with solutions to different bugs and circumvent different obstacles.

More bugs. Yay

I was working on the third floor when I realized that whenever I tried adding a pathway for the AI, it would ruin the pathway for the other AIs. So instead of working on the final AI’s movement, I worked on the level design. I am trying to make a maze similar to the first floor’s but more difficult because there are many dead ends and if one makes a wrong turn, the AI that is always chasing the player will catch up to the player and defeat him. Hopefully, Mr. Polge can help fix the issue im having when he comes.

One Step Closer

The second floor of the game is fully completed and bug-proof. I was able to fix the AI movement issues that were present before. I will be working on the last floor’s level design and after that, the game will be “completed,” but I will still work on the game. So far, I have not added much horror components to the game so I will try to be doing that while I work on the level design.

No More Issues and Bugs for Now

I was able make my game actually work finally. I was able to fix the audio settings, the AI patrolling mechanism, and the player’s health and damage settings. With the help of Mr. Polge, I was able to get back on track of focusing on level design. I will hopefully finish the second stage to the game soon so I can focus on the last stage and then some cool mechanics and designs that will make the game cleaner. For instance, one of the things I could add is use the metahuman to replace the default characters used in the game.

Computers Crash. Fun Times

I continued working on the second level of my first person horror game, but there were many struggles when making it. For instance, it is difficult to tell the AI enemy to continue chasing the player even when the player crouches and goes under a an object. I tried many different possible solutions but none of them worked. Some of the possibilities even caused the computer to crash. Tomorrow, I will seek guidance from Mr. Polge to see what he would do to solve the current problems I am facing. On the plus side, I am a little more than 50% done with the game. Hopefully I will be able to finish the game soon so I can add some cool features to it to give more a of horror feel to it.
