Day 7 – Colin

  • Today we wrapped up our PPC projects and then began working on finding potential partner companies for mpro5
  • Panera was the plan for lunch though thanks to Chelsea’s directions we ended up at a hospital
  • After lunch we met with Mark and Fred and discussed what we learned and got out of the wep as Mark will not be here for our final day
  • A conclusion we came to was that we were very thankful for them giving us this opportunity, and that they were very thankful for the hard work we put in the past two weeks
  • Michael and I were also complimented by the building owner on how much our ping pong skills improved

Day 6 – Colin

  • Today we focused on PPC’s which are pay per clicks. Companies spend money using certain keywords to get to the front pages of google. Every time a user goes to their website as a result of the keywords, the company must pay a certain amount. We researched words that mpro5 could use along with ones competitors are using. Ideally they would have a solid search volume with a lower cost per click.
  • We went for round 3 at the Mexican restaurant and brought along a new member. They couldn’t agree with us more that the food was insane.
  • It was already determined that I am better at ping pong than EJ, however, she insisted on playing again. To which I responded by winning 9 straight games.

Day 5 – Colin

  • Today we only had 4 people, Evan, Michael, EJ, and I
  • For the first part of the day we wrapped up our research concerning mpro5s competitors
  • It started storming so we took some time to admire the storm from the great view in the office space
  • Then we ran to subway for lunch
  • Came back and started working on research concerning pay per click and making a PowerPoint to present to the marketing head in London

Day 4 – Colin

  • To start off today we finished writing our marketing emails and finished our keywords project which took the entire morning
  • For lunch we went for round 2 at the Mexican restaurant and it was just as good as yesterday. I was also charged $46 by the electric scooter company for who knows why.
  • After lunch we presented our keyword research to the founder/chairman of the company, the CEO, and Fred of course!
  • The rest of the day was spent on a new assignment which focused on mpro5s competitors and what they are doing right and what they are doing wrong

Day 3 – Colin

  • To start off today we had a brief meeting with Fred to discuss our next assignment
  • We began working on finding key words that the companies website could use to put them on the front pages of google searches. This task was actually very difficult and confusing though we made it through
  • For lunch after some navigation confusion we found a hidden gem in Raleigh which was a very good and cheap Mexican Restaurant
  • We also rode the scooters again until we learned you could get fined for riding them on the sidewalk so we decided to stop
  • Finally we began working on some email drafts that could be sent to potential clients to introduce them to the company
  • Michael the pro scooterer leading us to nowhere

Day 2 – Colin

  • To start off the second day we went back and found even more retail companies to get a grand total of 100 different companies
  • We also found several companies in the catering and food supply category and did the same task
  • For lunch we got Subway and then rode electric scooters around downtown Raleigh for the remainder of our break
  • After lunch we began searching for contacts from the companies we originally found
  • oh and we also played some ping pong

Day 1 – Colin

  • Once introduced to Mr. Self and Mr. Whipp we were given a debrief on the company and its goals
  • We were divided into groups and set off on the task of finding potential companies in the U.S. that mpro5 could target
  • My group focused on retail companies
  • Our research was set on criteria such as annual revenue, total employees, and number of locations and was compiled into excel
