Presentations

Today was the last day and it was the day we presented our pitches. Every single person had a different and unique presentation pitching on why CA should buy this product. Most interestingly, no one really overlapped with each other, making it even more unique. We all are very appreciative of Tracy, our leader for CISCO and all the effort she made to get us in important meetings and into our projects as well.

DUO Demo

Today we had three sessions: Umbrella, security, and Duo demo. Most interestingly, DUO demo seems the most complicated, yet it effectively secures all personal data. For instance, it will require two factor authorization, specific questions to make sure that your personal data is not getting into the wrong hands. Additionally, it blocks any suspicious activity/account personnel trying to get into your email, chrome, passwords, etc.

Day 2

Today, we had three sessions: Meraki, Data center, and AppDynamics. From these three sessions, a lot was exposed to how CISCO functions separately.

The first session was Meraki. Meraki was especially interesting because of its involvement in privacy, security, and cloud data. Meraki gives the power of seeing who uses the router and blocks specific websites. In addition, the motion sensors on cameras allow for any unusual detection. It was most interesting that cameras could be trained to spot people and whether people wore masks.

The second session was Data Center which stored important codes through the network. If any mishaps happen, all the data is stored and there is an edit log that records all the changes.

Finally, the third session was AppDynamics. AppDynamics gives further insight into why an app crashed or is being slow. It helps find the problem causing it and easily gives a solution to the problem.

Overall, today we learned more about the layers of security of CISCO. Every architect helps how the company runs in some way.

Claire’s Day 1 – Cisco

Today, we had orientation, getting to know more about CISCO and the employees. Additionally, we learned about CISCO culture. For an instance, they celebrate every little accomplishment and have paid workdays off. I got to meet my mentor, Cassandra Williams, and we talked a lot about Duke and engineering because we shared a lot of common activities.

We learned a lot about our future project. We have to present a pitch saying why this product is necessary at Cary Academy. I think it’s pretty interesting and will help me engage in social skills.

Overall, today was a chill introduction day.
