Day Five:

Today we just stayed at home and worked on fundraising proposals. I proposed having an international movie night where we hold a movie night at a local park and charge people 10$ for an admission ticket. All funds would go to Curamericas Global. Another idea was to have an art exhibit show with the Diamante Art and Cultural Center in Raleigh and charge people 10$ per show. The funds would be distributed among Curamericas Global and the Diamante Art and Cultural Center.

DAY FOUR:

Today me and Andrew finished scanning mail and confidential files. We had a proper orientation to talk about business policies and what a business has to go through in order to follow the law of the land.

Here’s a photo of Andrew scanning files:

I also tried to use the office computer one last time to upload files to a networking folder, but it wanted to be annoying and starting updating. This update took two hours… and once it finished the wifi router basically blew up.

Here’s a picture of the computer:

DAY THREE:

Today me and Andrew gave our presentations on Curamericas Global to the director of the company. He gave us insightful feedback and asked us to give the presentation again at the end of the two weeks, Once we finished that, me and Andrew brainstormed a few ideas to create fundraisers for the company and proposed four ideas: An international movie night, an art exhibit showing, a fundraising “walk,”  or an app to showcase the greatness of Curamericas Global. For the next few days, we plan to create our plans into fruition.

Here’s a photo of a policy brief I finished:

FIRST DAY AT CURAMERICAS GLOBAL:

1st thing on the agenda was to find which building I was supposed to go to. There were 15 different suites, so it took me 4 tries to find the right building. Once I found the office, I met with Andrew Herrera to talk about our schedule. He asked me to sort out confidential documents and donations so that we could scan them and upload them to the files on his computer.

This is the area where I worked-

After screaming at the printer (not actually) and rebooting the office computer a few times, I finally finished my first task of the day.

The next thing on my schedule was to learn about Curamericas Global and their mission. I discovered that this company has opened 10 different health clinics in Guatemala alone and has helped in the safety of 785 births. They want to transform entire communities through health and hope.

Here’s a miniature model of one of their health clinics that we made today-

Now, and for the next couple of days, I have to create my own presentation about Curamericas Global and format it as if I’m explaining it to someone who’s never heard of the company. Should be fun.
