College and Careers Day!

Today, Natasha and I met with our host, Ms. Schick, to talk about college, careers, and generally her life experience. We had a really fascinating discussion! Just like me, she rowed in college. Her experience with crew was really insightful. Ms. Schick talked about how she did club crew at Lewis and Clark, placed 4th in the world indoor rowing championships, and started training for the Olympics. We also learned about her experience working for Starbucks when it was a startup… and then deciding to go into environmental law after realizing that she couldn’t spend her life with a company that would perpetually waste cups.

Here’s a picture of Natasha and I debriefing after our call:

Policy Memo

After meeting with our host, Ms. Schick, on Tuesday, I’ve been working on my policy memo. I have researched and compiled information about the US congressional representatives from Arizona to determine if they are likely to support funding for the land acquisition. I am also compiling contact information for these representatives’ staff so that Ms. Schick can find the right person to contact. Some of the details that I’ve put together about the US Representative, Tom O’Halleran, from the Arizona district that the land is located in are below:
