Summit Hospitality

5/24/22

My first day at Summit Hospitality was insightful. Summit Hospitality is a North Carolina hotel and restaurant management company founded in 1989. They own eighteen properties across North Carolina in a variety of areas. Today I shadowed Yates Parrish, an analyst at Summit Hospitality. Additionally, I got the opportunity to listen in on two major meetings with Doyle Parrish, the CEO of the multimillion-dollar property management. These meetings occur every two weeks. They put forth effort to meet accordingly, to review and report how the hotels restaurants are doing. I got to compare and contrast how different types of businesses (hotels and restaurants) are managed and analyzed. Each person in the office added value and a different perspective to the company.  Often, people that stay in hotels or eat at restaurants don’t tend to think about how much goes behind the scenes of a buisness; however it is interesting to see how all of the different components come together.
