The kickoff of the 2024-2025 school year here at Cary Academy means many things for our campus community. For the majority of CA students, this includes the commencement of fall sports! Whether you’re a participating athlete, a hardworking coach, a proud parent, or a dedicated fan, fall sports are a fun way to unite the CA community and ramp up school spirit.
With a wide range of sports to choose from, athletes can try out for cross country, varsity field hockey, varsity and junior varsity boys soccer, varsity and junior varsity girls volleyball, varsity girls tennis, or varsity girls golf. These sports not only encourage school spirit, but also the empowerment of individual athletes.
One student-athlete on the varsity field hockey team, Callie McCaron (’26), states that “being a part of a highly competitive environment that focuses on empowering women as well as leadership on and off the field propels me into being the best version of myself that I could ever imagine. Not only do I get to play the sport that I love, but I get to work on my academic/athletic balance, meet girls across TISAAC, and build strong bonds that will last long past high school.”
That’s right, behind the scenes of the beautiful games and races, is the creation of unbreakable bonds between athletes not only within teams but intertwining with competitors all across our conference.
Another student-athlete, Luke Stallings (’26), claims that the addition of playing on the varsity soccer team along with balancing school work has “actually taught me more time management skills than if I only focused on my school work. Having to plan out when I will complete my homework assignments after my practices and games drastically lowers my procrastination levels and gives me a sense of fulfillment.”
All athlete across the fall sports spectrum are hard-working individuals dedicated to improving their athletic skills while mastering the balance of their priorities and utilizing teamwork and leadership to create a strongly spirited community.
