Dear Reader,
Congratulations on making it through the first ever semester at CA! As we noted in September, a lot of things this year won’t look the same – but we hope The Campitor can remain a comforting point of consistency as the CA community looks to 2021 for new opportunities and an abundance of hope for the future.
We focused our third issue this year around reflections on 2020 and articles that exemplify the holiday spirit. It feels like we mention the perils of 2020 in almost every article The Campitor publishes – but truly, how can we avoid the topic? This year has been tumultuous and surprising, depressing and exhausting, but it’s also shown us just how resilient we are as a community. At the end of 2020, CA students and faculty still buzz around the campus, and we have a heightened sense of compassion for each other that will persist as 2021 and all of its uncertainties approach. We want to wish you, Reader, a hopeful 2021 full of growth and new experiences.
We would like to thank our lovely writers for this issue: Lily Bastin (’23), Isabel Chang (’24), Emma Esposito (’23), Ella Gupta (’23), Brooke Wu (’23). Additionally, thank you to the many faculty and students who have provided us with the information and images needed to put together this edition. And of course, an enormous thank you to Ms. Buie for supporting us through our journey as co-editors.
Enjoy the mini holiday issue, and look out for the next issue in 2021!
Sincerely,
McKay Lucas and Claire Ferris
