Dear Reader,
Welcome to the final edition of the Campitor for the 2019-2020 school year.
We-Claire Ferris (’21) and McKay Lucas (’21)- are excited to be your Campitor editors for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Just like all of you, we have no idea what the school newspaper is going to look like next year. Regardless of the status of COVID-19, we are excited to continue to be your Cary Academy news source.
To all students, we hope you will consider joining us! Whether we meet in person or online, we cannot wait to gain new staff members who are passionate about writing and designing. We can promise journalism experience, opportunities to explore events inside and outside of Cary Academy, and maybe even some snacks.
Thank you to this issue’s writers and artists: Mary Esposito (’21), Sara Martin (’21), Clay Thornton (’21), and even our own Campitor alumna: Kaela Curtis (’20). This paper would not be possible without the help of our faculty advisor, Ms. Buie. We hope that this issue will provide insight into worldwide events and how we can keep progressing as a community.
We’ve made it. We’ve made it to the end of the school year, we’ve made it to the beginning of summer, and most importantly: we’ve made history.
With love,
McKay Lucas and Claire Ferris (’21)
