At Peace At Home: Thoughts from Self-Quarantine

Senior Addie Esposito shares one of her iconic rhyming poems.

What to do when stuck at home?

Trapped inside, not free to roam?

If you’re an antsy soul like me

Then staying busy is the key

Read that book collecting dust

Before your Netflix does combust

Browse the news, the daily feed

Find some time to sit and read

Pets await more frequent pats

All our dogs and purring cats

Expect more love when we’re around

So go and hug your patient hound

Don’t forget to drink some sun

Slowly amble, try to run

Let the vigor fill your brain

Soon malaise will start to wane

Wake up to the morning light

No alarms to rudely bite

Fall asleep when you feel tired

Sip some tea if you feel wired

Call your grandma on the phone

Call anyone who lives alone

Check on those who need a lift

Crises can lead us adrift

But staying home provides downtime

To rest, recoup, emerge our prime

Make the most of every day

And use this time to live your way
