Welcome to the first edition of the Campitor for the 2017-2018 school year! As CA moved beyond its twentieth year and into its twenty-first, the first trimester back was a whirlwind of activity. With four new Upper School teachers, a reorganized schedule, and the start of construction on the brand new science building, there is a great new energy on campus that I’m so happy to experience. I’ve loved watching this newspaper grow better with each edition and reflect the passion of my peers, and this one is no exception! From the articles on new clubs like Glee Club and Entrepreneurship & Business Management Club to the topic of gravitational waves, it’s clear that our student body is more active and engaged than ever.
As always, I would like to extend my thanks to our wonderful faculty advisor, Ms. Buie, who is beginning her second year working with us. I would also like to give a huge shout out and welcome out to our writers, for making each edition possible with their contributions, and to the editing staff – Taylor Timinskas, Cate Pitterle, Princess Bernard-Oti, and Danielle Carr – who make each edition outstanding. Lastly, I’d like to thank you, our readers – read on to learn about what CA students are passionate about, leave comments, start a dialogue, and enjoy!
Thanks,
Hope Ferris (’18)
