Spirit Week seems to get more and more competitive every year, and with this year’s ramping up of the Spirit Cup, competition during Spirit Week seemed to heighten all the more. From Pajama day to Blue and Gold day, Chargers of all ages wore eclectic ensembles to win points for their grades and Spirit Cup teams. Students brought in jars of pennies, barrels of ramen, and enthusiasm for community service in order to not only crush other grades (in good spirit, of course) but also to help the greater community.StuCo 3

Wacky Olympics, the time-honored tradition, epitomized the excitement and fun of Spirit Week. A huge success planned almost entirely by Ellie Johnson (‘17), Student Council Vice President, Wacky Olympics even ended 15 minutes early this year due to the efficiency of Student Council and skill of the Olympians.

After a thrilling Spirit Week conclusion at the Homecoming Pep Rally, the standings were in: SENIORS WON! The sophomores placed in a distant second with the juniors and freshpeople following close behind in third and fourth place, respectively.StuCo 1

Looking to the future, Student Council will be sponsoring the annual Variety Show, in which a new type of performer will take the stage. Singers, poets, dancers, comedians, magicians, freestyle rappers, and bird callers alike are all welcomed to join the cast. Look for an email from Student Council to hear about when auditions take place and/or whom to contact to be in the show!

Another upcoming Student Council-sponsored event is the Winter Semi-Formal. After the holiday break, be ready to dress up, hang out with all of your coolest friends, and dance the night away.
