This year, Key Club has started off with a blast! Many new members of the community have joined us in our efforts, and many memorable events have been offered in August, September, and October. The September Special Needs Dance, which our members attend every year and enjoy, and the Blood Drive, held in honor of Ms. Hamilton and Mr. Grush, were extremely successful. Over the long weekend from October 9th to the 11th, three events – the Walk for Autism, the Buddy Walk, and the International Festival – all took place, with many students from Cary Academy serving multiple shifts. We offered support at the finish lines and manned water stations at the Walk for Autism, receiving great feedback from the adult supervisors. Key and Beta worked very well together at the station, and together we handed out over two tables of cups of water during the marathon! Kudos to all our members, who I’m sure will keep up their enthusiasm throughout the year.
Behind the scenes, we Key Club officers have also been hard at work, discovering new ways to manage the club and promote even more events. This year’s officers are:
Sam Kozlowski, Officer-at-Large,
Brett Morachnick, Treasurer,
Riya Thomas, Secretary,
Marisa Bishop, Vice President, and
Julia Gong, President.
